NOTICE, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 23, 2014, THESE CONTEST RULES WERE CHANGED DUE TO A CHANGE IN THE HONEYMOON TRIP PORTION OF THE PRIZE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS CONTEST.
Who Can Enter
1. To be eligible to participate in this contest, entrants must be Maryland residents who are 18 years of age or older, reside in the WBFF viewing area and a married or engaged couple.
2. Employees of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Sinclair Communications, LLC, and any other company which owns, programs or provides other services to television broadcast station WBFF-TV (the "Station"), WNUV, WUTB, Bridal Showcase Productions, The Douglas Group, Inc. dba UPICKEM, their affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, any and all local television broadcast and cable stations, local radio and other media companies, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible. The term "immediate families" includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren. To be eligible, you can not have won any contest on WBFF, WNUV or WUTB in the past 30 days from the end date of this promotion.
How to Enter
(a) No purchase is necessary to enter. Only one entry per couple.
(b)To enter, visit the WBFF Fox Baltimore Facebook page at www.FoxBaltimore.com and click on “Contests”. Complete the online entry form with your name, fiancee’s name, address, phone, e-mail address, birth date, 100 word essay, and picture of yourself and your fiancee. Pictures must be uploaded in jpeg format and cannot exceed 200 mb in size. No mechanically reproduced or completed entries will be accepted. By entering, entrants acknowledge that the essay and picture (i) is their own work, (ii) does not violate the rights of any third parties, (iii) may be used by Station in connection with the contest; and (iv) is subject to the Station’s terms and conditions located at http://www.foxbaltimore.com/sections/station/legal/terms.shtml.
(c) The contest starts on Monday January 13, 2014, and all entries must be received by Station by 5:00 p.m. EST on Friday, January 24, 2014. Station is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected entries, or for printing errors, server unavailability, computer or any other electronic malfunction.
(d) All entries (including pictures and essays) received that are mutilated, tampered with, illegible, or from ineligible entrants will be void. All entries (including pictures and essays) become the property of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc. and the Station and will not be acknowledged or returned.
Voting Process
(a)Each entry will be judged by a panel of two judges based on 50% content, and 50% creativity. The four (4) entries with the highest scores will be declared finalists. Finalists will have their entries read live on FOX45 Morning News between Monday, January 27, 2014 and Thursday, January 30, 2014.
(b)On Monday, January 27, 2014, the Station will post the four (4) finalist entries on Station’s webpage www.FoxBaltimore.com. Between 9:00 a.m. January 27, 2014 and 5:00 p.m. EST on January 30, 2014, viewers will be asked to vote for their favorite couple by submitting their vote through the Wedding in a Week UPICKEM voting application hosted on www.FoxBaltimore.com. Voting is limited to one vote per account holder per day. Duplicate votes will be disqualified. Facebook “Likes” are not considered votes. Finalists are prohibited from obtaining votes by offering prizes or other inducements to members of the public, vote farming, vote purchasing, or any other activity that artificially inflates such finalists’ votes as determined by Station in its sole discretion. The Station reserves the right to determine in its sole and absolute discretion whether the online votes are valid, and may disqualify any duplicate votes. Multiple and/or irregular votes or multiple votes from the same user or users, including but not limited to, votes generated by a robotic, programmed, script, macro, other automated means or other source will be considered invalid.
(c) On January 31, 2014, one (1) grand prize winner will be determined based on the finalist with the most valid votes, as determined by the Station.
(d) In the event of a tie, the Grand Prize Winner will be randomly selected from among the tied finalists. All decisions of the judges will be final.
(e)As a condition of participating and winning, each of the four (4) finalists must agree to appear on Fox45 Morning News at an assigned time between Monday January 27, 2014 and Friday January 31, 2014 between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Winner will be notified in person, on the air, Friday January 31, 2014. Refusal by finalists or the grand prize winning couple to appear on Fox45 Morning News will result in disqualification. In such event, another finalist may be selected by the judges in their sole and absolute discretion.
The Prize(s)
One (1) Grand Prize Winner will be determined based on valid voting results. The grand prize winner will receive a wedding package which includes the following: a wedding dress ($2,000), tuxedo rental for the groom and up to 9 groomsmen ($2,000), wedding cake ($500), flowers ($6,000), invitations ($500), wedding planner ($6,000), honeymoon trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico for two ($3,000), wedding ceremony, and reception at the Embassy Suites Baltimore with catering for up to 100 people ($15,000) (bar service and gratuity not included), photography and video package ($2,500), and the services of a justice of the peace ($500). The reception will take place immediately after the ceremony on February 7, 2014. Winners are not permitted to substitute or add outside vendors to the ceremony or reception. The honeymoon trip includes roundtrip coach airfare for two (2) from Baltimore to Riviera Maya, Mexico. Accommodations include three (3) nights all-inclusive stay at Secrets Silversand Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico, one (1) room, double occupancy, meals, drinks, certain on-site activities and entertainment, and on- site gratuities are included. The winner is responsible for any and all travel-related expenses not expressly stated in the prize description, including, without limitation, airport transfers, baggage fees, miscellaneous airline fees, beverages, gratuities, trip insurance, spa treatments, excursions, equipment rental, other transportation, fuel surcharges, other meals, port charges, taxes and surcharges, or any other incidental expenses. The prize must be used by August 7, 2015, is subject to availability, reservation, and blackout dates may apply. Winner and new spouse will need a passport to travel. Winner and new spouse are responsible for researching travel restrictions and warnings for traveling outside of the U.S. The entire grand prize package is valued at $45,000.
Between February 3, 2014 and February 6, 2014, Station’s viewers will be asked to vote for the specific wedding dress, floral arrangements, ceremony & reception ballroom catering menu, and first dance by submitting their vote through the Wedding in a Week UPICKEM voting application hosted on wwwFoxBaltimore.com based on the following schedule:
Monday, February 3, 2014: Wedding dress voting
Tuesday, February 4, 2014: Floral Arrangements Voting
Wednesday, February 5, 2014: Ballroom Voting
Thursday, February 6, 2014: First Dance Voting
Voting for each of the above prize selections will begin at 9:00 a.m. EST on Monday February 3, 2014 and conclude at 5:00 p.m. EST Thursday February 6, 2014.
All prizes will be awarded during the live wedding ceremony on Fox45 Morning News the morning of February 7, 2014.
2. Finalists will be notified by phone. The grand prize winning couple will be notified in person. Winners must sign and return a release and affidavit of eligibility, which must be received within 3 days of notification. All persons traveling on the trip must be 18 years of age or over. All persons traveling on the trip must also sign and return a release which must be returned with the winner’s release and affidavit of eligibility within the time frame specified above. Winners must show picture identification to claim prizes. Station reserves the right to examine additional identification and may choose to accept or deny awarding the prize based on the identification presented. Winners may be required to sign additional documentation as required by the sponsors or prize provider. Winners are responsible for obtaining a marriage license in Baltimore City, Maryland prior to February 7, 2014.
3,If the winning couple does not timely sign and return the release and affidavit of eligibility, then the prize will be awarded to the finalist couple receiving the next highest number of valid votes.
4.There will be no substitutions or cash alternatives for prizes except at the sole discretion of Station. The Station has the right to substitute a prize of similar value. No transfer or assignment of prizes is allowed.
5.The winners are responsible for paying all local, county, state and federal taxes on prizes based on the estimated retail value of the prizes as set forth in these rules.
6.Only one prize will be awarded per household. Contestants are eligible to win only one prize within any 30 day period, regardless of the number of contests entered.
7.Sinclair Communications, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not liable if the provider of any part of the prize fails to satisfy its obligations to furnish its portion of the prize. The Station, sponsors, and prize provider shall not be responsible for winners’ failure to take the trip within the time frame described above, or cancellation of the trip by the winner.
8.Sinclair Communications, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not responsible for any liabilities arising directly or indirectly from the award or use of the prize.
9.In claiming your prize, you acknowledge that Sinclair Communications, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. have the right to publicize your name, character, likeness, photograph, voice and the fact that you are the winner for promotional purposes without financial remuneration.
Odds of Winning/Miscellaneous
1. Odds of winning depend on the number of online votes received.
2. Complete contest rules are available Monday through Friday during normal business hours at WBFF Fox45, 2000 W. 41st Street, Baltimore, MD 21211 and on the Station’s website at www.foxbaltimore.com.
3. For a list of prize winners, send a separate, self-addressed, stamped envelope to WBFF Fox45, 2000 W. 41st Street, Baltimore, MD 21211 by March 7, 2014.
4. This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Sinclair Communications, LLC, The Douglas Group, Inc. dba UPICKEM, Bridal Showcase Productions, and WeddingWire.com, accept no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of any prize awarded hereunder.
5.By entering this contest, each entrant waives any and all claims of liability against the Station, any sponsors, Facebook.com, and their respective parent, affiliates, officers, directors, employees and agents, for any and all claims, loss, damage or injury which may occur as a result of entrant’s participation in this contest.
6. Station cannot be held liable for any lost or stolen entries, prizes or contest information.
7. Station reserves the right to make rules and contest changes and change the aforementioned contest dates.
