Who Can Enter
1. To be eligible to participate in this contest, entrants and nominees must be Maryland residents who are 21 years of age or older and reside in the WBFF viewing area.
2. Employees of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Sinclair Communications, LLC and any other company which owns, programs or provides other services to television broadcast station WBFF (the “Station”), WNUV, Southwest Airlines, Cobra Golf, Paramount’s King’s Dominion, their affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, any and all local television broadcast and cable stations, local radio and other media companies, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible. The term “immediate families” includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren. Only one winner per household if more than one winner per contest. To be eligible, you can not have won any contest on WBFF or WNUV in the past 30 days from the end date of this promotion.
How to Enter
(a) No purchase is necessary to enter. Only one entry per household.
(b) To enter, log onto www.foxbaltimore.com and describe in 100 words or less why your father or a dad you know is "Baltimore's Best Dad". You may also download the official entry form from www.foxbaltimore.com, fill it out, and send it along with your name, address, phone number, and birth date, and mail it to "Baltimore's Best Dad", 2000 W. 41st Street, Baltimore, MD, 21211. No mechanically reproduced or completed entries will be accepted. By entering, entrants represent and warrant that the entry is their original work and does not violate the rights of any third parties.
(c) The contest starts on Friday, May 28, 2010, and all entries must be received by Station by 5:00 p.m. EDT on Friday, June 11, 2010. Station is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected entries or for printing errors, server unavailability, computer or any other electronic malfunction.
(d) Each entry will be judged by a panel of two judges based on 50% content, and 50% creativity. On Friday June 11, 2010, the judges will select four (4) qualifier(s) based on the criterion set forth above. The entrants/nominees with the top four scores will be declared finalists. In the event of a tie, the nominee submitted by the entrant with a higher score on the content criterion will be deemed the finalist. Finalists will be notified by phone by 5:00 p.m. on June 13, 2010. If a finalist cannot be contacted by June 14, 2010, then another finalist with the next highest score will be selected. Each finalist entry will be read on-air on FOX45 Morning News between Monday, June 14, 2010 and Thursday, June 17, 2010. Between 6:00am and 9:00am on Friday, June 18, 2010, each finalist will be required to be present at a local Maryland golf course for a live appearance and golf contest to air on FOX45 Morning News. Each finalist will participate in a golf “closest to the pin” contest. The finalist who chips and putts the golf ball closest to the pin at the golf course will be declared the grand prize winner, as determined by the Station’s judge. The remaining three (3) finalists will be declared second place winners. Each second place winner will be ranked by the distance of their chip shots and putts. In case of a tie, finalists will putt again, until a grand prize winner is declared.
(e) Entrants acknowledge that only the finalists and the winning dad will be eligible to receive a prize. The entrant shall not receive the prize.
(f) All entries received that are duplicate, mutilated, tampered with, illegible, or from ineligible entrants will be void. All entries (including essays) become the property of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc. and the Station and will not be acknowledged or returned.
The Prize(s)
1. One (1) grand prize winner will be selected. The grand prize winner will receive four (4) round-trip airfare tickets to anywhere that Southwest Airline flies, one (1) Cobra golf package which includes a driver, clubs, bag, and stand, four (4) tickets to King’s Dominion, and one (1) “Caddyshack” Standard DVD. The value of the grand prize is $3,792. The tickets to Kings Dominion expire September 6, 2010. The Southwest Airline tickets must be used by June 11, 2011, are subject to reservation, miscellaneous airline fees, availability, and black out dates.
Three (3) second place winners will be selected. Each second place winner will receive four (4) admission tickets to King’s Dominion, a $50 gift certificate to a local Maryland restaurant (as determined by the Station), and one (1) “Caddyshack” Standard DVD. Each second place prize is valued at $303. The Kings’s Dominion tickets expire September 6, 2010. The restaurant gift certificates expire on June 11, 2012.
2. Finalists will be notified by phone by 5pm on Sunday, June 13, 2010. Winners will be notified in person. Winners must sign and return a release and affidavit of eligibility, which must be received within 14 days of notification. Winners must show picture identification to claim prizes. Station reserves the right to examine additional identification and may choose to accept or deny awarding the prize based on the identification presented.
3. If finalist cannot be notified within 2 days, then an alternate finalist will be selected with the next highest score. If a winner does not timely sign and return the affidavit of eligibility, then the prize will be forfeited. Finalists who cannot, for any reason, participate in the live show on Friday, June 18, 2010, will be disqualified and another finalist with the next highest score will be selected. Failure to collect the prize within 14 days will constitute forfeiture of the prize. If forfeited, the prize will remain the property of Station. Another winner will not be selected.
4. There will be no substitutions or cash alternatives for prizes except at the sole discretion of Station. The Station has the right to substitute a prize of similar value. No transfer or assignment of prizes is allowed.
5. The winners are responsible for paying all local, county, state and federal taxes on prizes based on the estimated retail value of the prizes as set forth in these rules.
6. Only one prize will be awarded per household. Contestants are eligible to win only one prize within any 30 day period, regardless of the number of contests entered.
7. Sinclair Communications, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not liable if the provider of any part of the prize fails to satisfy its obligations to furnish its portion of the prize. The Station, sponsors, and prize provider shall not be responsible for winner’s failure to take the trip within the time frame described above, or cancellation of the trip by the winner.
8. Sinclair Communications, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not responsible for any liabilities arising directly or indirectly from the award or use of the prize.
9. In claiming your prize, you acknowledge that Sinclair Communications, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. have the right to publicize your name, character, likeness, photograph, voice and the fact that you are the winner for promotional purposes without financial remuneration.
Odds of Winning/Miscellaneous
1. Odds of winning depend on the number of valid entries.
2. Complete contest rules are available Monday through Friday during normal business hours at WBFF, 2000 W. 41st Street, Baltimore, MD 21211 and on the Station’s website at www.foxbaltimore.com.
3. For a list of prize winners, send a separate, self-addressed, stamped envelope to WBFF, 2000 W. 41st Street, Baltimore, MD 21211 by June 30, 2010.
4. This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc. Sinclair Communications, LLC, Southwest Airlines, Cobra Golf, and Paramount’s King’s Dominion, accept no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of any prize awarded hereunder.
5. Station cannot be held liable for any lost or stolen entries, prizes or contest information.
6. Station reserves the right to make rules and contest changes and change the aforementioned contest dates.
